Ramsey’s Town Hall Audience Tops One Million
Friday, April 24th, 2009
Last night’s “Town Hall For Hope,” hosted by syndicated radio talker and FOX Business Channel host Dave Ramsey, reached a reported 1 million-plus people via more than 6000 locations across the U.S. and Canada who came to hear the talk host offer his message of hope in troubled times. “Hope doesn’t come from Washington,” he told viewers and listeners. “Hope comes from you and me.” Urging people to take charge of their own lives, Ramsey added, “The one thing America needs right now is hope. All we’re hearing in the news is how bad thing are, and no one is talking about hope for the future. The solution to America’s economy is to get people to believe again. It’s time to connect with families to instill hope and optimism in our economy and our country. We, the people, are the healing agents.” Ramsey concluded with advice on three things everyone can do to help shed the feelings of hopelessness and fear that prevail in America today. “Become active, avoid negative talk and give more to others in need,” he said. As NTS MediaOnline first told you yesterday via our “breaking news” bulletin, the liberal talk host has joined the lineup at Premiere Radio Networks where she’ll host a syndicated show from Washington, DC beginning May 11. Charter affiliates of Rhodes’ latest national effort include Clear Channel progressive talk outlets KTLK-AM/Los Angeles, KKGN (Green 960)/San Francisco and KPOJ/Portland. The move to Premiere is not Rhodes’ first rodeo at Clear Channel. Prior to joining Air America Radio for her first nationwide shot in 2004 she held local on-air stints at CC’s WIOD/Miami and WJNO/West Palm Beach. Most recently her radio show was syndicated by Nova M Broadcasting, a Phoenix-based venture headed by Chicago financiers Sheldon and Anita Drobny. “Randi has carved a niche in Talk radio with her straight-forward approach, intelligence, wit, and fact-driven content — qualities that attract audiences,” said Premiere EVP/Affiliate Marketing Julie Talbot. “We can’t wait to deliver Randi’s show to stations nationwide.” The addition of Rhodes to the Premiere stable should make for an interesting holiday party at the network which also syndicates heavyweight conservative talkers Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck.
