Boomer Bust On Facebook?
Monday, June 8th, 2009
Website InsideFacebook.com (which ”tracks Facebook and the Facebook platform for developers and marketers”), says a recent surge in sign-ups to the social networking site by baby boomers may have already gone bust. Earlier this year, InsideFacebook reported the number of Facebook users over 35 had almost doubled in the early months of this year. While signups among those over 35 continue to grow overall, numbers for those over 55 who are signing up have dropped considerably in recent months. No conclusion on why there seems to be a downtrend among older users. Women continue to dominate as users of the popular social networking site — 56% vs. 44% for men — even among those over 55. All facts worth noting for Talk media outlets seeking to grow their presence in the arena of social media. In fact, women outnumber men in every demographic. Read the full report HERE.
WND’s website reports a just-inked deal with Radio America to stream the DC-based Talk radio network’s Roger Hedgecock Show and G. Gordon Liddy Show, along with other featured programming. “Radio America’s news and talk programs are a great fit on WorldNet Daily,” said RA COO Mike Paradiso. “This multimedia venture will broaden Radio America’s audience by increasing the network’s reach across another key distribution platform.” Check out the new audio/video feature
FSR hosts Chris Myers and Steve Hartman, Petros & Money, JT “The Brick” and Steve Czaban are busy connecting U.S. soldiers serving overseas with family back home for Father’s Day (6/21). Through June 18th, at least once a day FOX Sports Radio hooks up a soldier with family members on-air to share Father’s day wishes. On June 19th, the event expands across all shows, all day, to kick off Father’s Day weekend. The promotion is an extension of JT “The Brick’s” weekly Military Night. For the past three years JT has featured calls from American troops around the world every Thursday night to get their thoughts and opinions on sports and more.
