Mancow: “It’s Absolutely Torture”
WLS/Chicago midday personality and Talk Radio Network nationally syndicated host Mancow Muller was the “winner” of a listener poll to determine whether he or his WLS co-host Pat Cassidy should be waterboarded to demonstrate the effects of the process that opponents have called “torture” and supporters have called an “enhanced interrogation technique.” The waterboarding — which took place “live” under highly controlled conditions on WLS earlier today — lasted just over five seconds before the talk host frantically signaled to stop. The Marine administering the waterboarding said the most time subjects can usually last during waterboarding is about 14 seconds. “It was way worse than I thought it would be,” said an obviously shaken Mancow after undergoing the process. “I thought I could hold out but it was instantaneous and horrific. If I’d known it would be this bad, I absolutely would not have agreed to do this.” Asked how he would classify waterboarding after having experienced it Muller– who previously has said he believed the technique was not torture — replied, “I don’t want to say this, but it is absolutely torture.” You can view a video of this morning’s event HERE.
