Bolton Rises At Dial-Global: It didn't take long for D-G co-President David Landau to recognize the management talent he'd acquired through the company's recent acquisition of the former Jones Radio Networks. Landau promotes Amy Bolton from VP/GM News/Talk to Senior VP/GM of Dial-Global's News/Talk Syndication Division. Bolton, who joined JRN in 1999, was named GM of that company's Talk division in 2002. Her network radio resume also includes stints with MediaAmerica, ABC Radio Networks and Westwood One. "Amy is a true leader and she has successfully transitioned our News/Talk hosts and producers during our company's recent merger," said Landau. "We are pleased to recognize her efforts by elevating her to Senior Vice President."

With the exception of the suspended areas, Week 3 (October 2-8) diary placement begins this week, with follow-up calls for Weeks 1 (September 18-24) and 2 (September 25-1) also taking place. "Radio Industry Has About 36 Months": That's the opinion of Erik Schwartz, CEO and co-founder of mobile radio on demand service Foneshow. In the latest post to his BLOG Schwartz uses the eve of the annual NAB Radio Show to tell radio that the industry can't afford a business-as-usual convention this year in Austin. "The future's looking grim, he writes. "The radio industry has a brief window of time standing open right now. I estimate it's about 36 months. Broadcasters can either embrace change and understand what they are, or settle into the dustbin of industries that have failed to adapt to the changing needs of the audience. The time is now."
