» Malzberg, Schultz Smackdown On FOX News: During an appearance on this morning's FOX & Friends morning show, WOR Radio Network's Steve Malzberg and Dial-Global's syndicated Ed Schultz were debating the pros and cons of the tax plans of Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama and how each would impact the now infamous "Joe the plumber." In support of Obama's tax proposals, Schultz offered that a small construction company owned by his sons would do better under the Democrat's plan. When interrupted by Malzberg to ask if his sons' business made over $250,000, Schultz sort of lost his cool and suddenly stormed of the set, leaving Malzberg and show co-hosts Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade looking pretty stunned. After a bit of banter trying to fill the rest of the time in the show segment, all three decided they, too, should storm off the set. Enjoy the fun HERE.

» Glenn Beck Flips The Channel: The Premiere Radio Networks syndicated talker and TV personality will move his nightly Headline News TV show to FOX News Channel next spring to fill that network's 5pm (ET) timeslot and also host a weekend program. This year's winner of the NAB Marconi Award for "Network Syndicated Personality of the Year," Beck has reportedly more than doubled Headline News' audience during his show's airings at 7pm and 9pm nightly. FOX News Chairman Roger Ailes said Beck's "thought-provoking commentary will complement an already stellar lineup of stars at FOX News."

» Humm Heads Beasley/Las Vegas: Longtime Sin City broadcaster Tom "I Can't Really Sing But I Can" Humm is named VP/Market Manager for the company's Las Vegas cluster including News/Talker KDWN. Humm served most recently in a similar post for CBS Radio's crosstown cluster. A Las Vegas native, Humm began his hometown radio career as an account executive at KLUC. He is also known around town for his years as a teacher and the football coach at his alma mater Bishop Gorman High School. "Interestingly, what I learned early on in football has served me well as a radio station manager," said Humm. "Team work is critical, as is keeping an offensive stance and a focus on the goal post. Las Vegas is my hometown. I love this market, I love radio and I'm here to win."

» Did You Watch? OK, I admit I couldn't stay awake and had to TIVO John McCain's appearance last night with David Letterman, but a quick check this morning confirmed the Republican presidential hopeful did show up this time to make amends for his last minute cancellation in September. "Can you stay?" asked Letterman to the laughter of the audience. Asked pointedly, "What exactly happened?" McCain replied, "I screwed up." During a discussion of McCain's plans for taxing Americans, the candidate got back at the comedian a bit for Letterman's weeks-long barrage aimed at both him and running mate Sarah Palin during the talk host's nightly monologues. "Now's not the time to raise anybody's taxes -- except yours," said McCain pointing at Letterman. "And I guarantee you when I'm president I'll do it." Last night was McCain's 14th appearance on Letterman's program.

At WRKO/Boston local host Reese Hopkins exits as Talk Radio Network's Laura Ingraham Show moves into the station's mid-morning timeslot ... Once again, CBS Radio reports major spikes in online listening during this week's final presidential debate. The company's stations streaming the debate in New York, Los Angeles and San Franciso saw listening increases of around 300% each vs. the 9-10:30pm period a week earlier ...
