Can't We All Just Get Along? As Americans head into the final weekend of what has been a long and contentious campaign for the White House, CelleCast CEO Andrew Deal has launched a grassroots movement seeking to "unite all Americans in a call to civility during the final days before the election." Vigil For Civility is a non-partisan effort to give voters a chance to channel their efforts to do something positive for the election by committing to personal acts of vigilance for civility. The group, first formed in 2004 and not connected to Deal's mobile audio delivery company, is calling on all Americans to "empower themselves and others by standing together against political cynicism by hosting or attending a local meeting for civility." Way Beyond The Beltway: Beyond The Beltway founder and host Bruce DuMont will broadcast his nationally syndicated show live from affiliate WKBN/Youngstown, OH this weekend, talking with swing voters in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, an area that's hotly contested by both Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama. The longtime political veteran, who has covered the last 12 presidential campaigns, will also host a special television version of BTB on Election Night (11/4) on PBS outlet WYCC-TV/Chicago. "This election tops all for drama and historic implications," DuMont told NTS Aircheck Today. It's likely to be a defining time of re-alignment in our country as was 1964, '68 and '80." It'll be a busy week for DuMont who will also host the annual Radio Hall of Fame induction ceremonies next Saturday night (11/8) in Chicago.
