» Streaming's Hot With N/T Listeners: In a report released today by Arbitron, the ratings company says that an analysis of PPM encoded streams of 233 AM/FM stations in 10 markets (excluding Houston) shows that News/Talk and AC stations garnered the most online listening during the month of October. AC stations posted 15.8% of the un-weighted quarter-hours of Internet listening (15.8%), followed closely by News/Talk with 14.9%. The analysis notes that over 74% of the reported streaming listening took place at work/away from home. No surprise that the findings also showed that streaming listeners are 32% more likely to be employed full-time than the general population. Arbitron says that the New York City metro had the highest share of un-weighted online listening quarter-hours (1.3), followed by San Francisco (1.2), Atlanta (1.2), Los Angeles (1.1) and Riverside-San Bernardino (1.0).

» KLAC/Los Angeles Helps Heroes: The Clear Channel SoCal Sports/Talker will hold a seven hour, commercial-free radiothon from noon-7pm tomorrow (11/13) to raise funds for the Paralyzed Veterans Of America. The group is dedicated to providing rehab, access to medical services and continuing research in finding a cure for spinal cord injury and disease. KLAC's Loose Cannons and Petros & Money shows will host the broadcast that will also include a special fundraising auction on the station's website. "In a small way, it's our chance to let the paralyzed men and women that fought for our freedom know that we haven't forgotten them," said KLAC GM Don Martin about the on-air and online charity event. » In Door: Longtime Minneapolis broadcast veteran Mick Anselmo is back in the biz as the newly named SVP/Market Manager for CBS Radio's Twin Cities cluster, including heritage News/Talker WCCO. A 25-year market veteran, Anselmo was most recently President/Market Manager for Clear Channel's crosstown cluster, a position he left in mid-2007. For the past year Anselmo has served as COO for Minneapolis-headquartered Advantage Rent-A-Car. He assumes a post that's been held by Mary Niemeyer who segues to VP/Director of Sales for the cluster, as well as GSM at WCCO.

Out Door: The restructuring van pulled up to WTMJ/Milwaukee PD Tom Parker's door as the veteran programmer exits the Journal News/Talker. Parker joined the stations two years ago following programming stints at WGST/Atlanta, WRVA/Richmond and WGY/Albany, NY. GM Steve Wexler is reportedly on the hunt for Parker's replacement. Meanwhile, you can check-in with Parker just to say "hey," or maybe offer him his next gig HERE.

» DC Gets Rally Rags: Pittsburgh Steelers fans have their "Terrible Towels," and now Washington Redskins fans will be able to wave their "Redskins Rally Rags," courtesy of Red Zebra Broadcasting Sports/Talk WTEM/Washington. This weekend the Redskins host NFC East rivals the Dallas Cowboys and "ESPN 980" plans to give the first 50,000 fans to enter DC's FedEx Field their very own official Rally Rag. "ESPN 980 stands for a lot of things, but what we stand for most is the sports fan," says Red Zebra CEO Bruce Gilbert. "This is a huge game for the Redskins and we want the fans to get behind the team and wave their ESPN 980 Rally Rags this Sunday night."

» Karel KO'd At KGO: Following his suspension for a recent accidental, F-bomb laden on-air tirade, during which he wished death to the infamous "Joe The Plumber," KGO/San Francisco evening and weekend host Charles "Karel" Bouley has been fired from the Citadel News/Talker. The talk host confirms his exit on his website and says a board-op running his show -- which Karel did mostly from a remote studio in Los Angeles -- has also been let go in the aftermath of the incident. Karel says the incident, "was my responsibility but not my fault." KGO management confirmed both exits but offered no other comment on the personnel matter.
