» Feel Good Story Of The Day: Today Salem Radio Network hosts Mike Gallagher, Dennis Prager, Bill Bennett, Hugh Hewitt and Michael Medved are all teaming up in a pre-Thanksgiving group effort to raise funds for Feed The Children to help workers who have lost their jobs heading into this holiday season. While soliciting donations on his show today Gallagher told a story of how a homeless man in Dallas found himself spending an afternoon at the movies with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo recently, a story that Gallagher said demonstrates how small, random acts of kindness by anyone can ultimately help everyone. Hear this great story for yourself HERE.

» Meet The New Boss: On a vote of 137-122, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) has defeated Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) to become the new head of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. His new post will give Waxman oversight of the FCC, telecomm policy and other broadcast issues on the Hill, as well as oversight of health care and energy issues. Dingell has been either Chairman or the ranking Democrat on that House Committee since 1981 and the ascension of Waxman -- who represents Beverly Hills and other areas of Los Angeles -- came as a surprise to many Democrats who have maintained a long policy of seniority when choosing committee chairmen. "Seniority has just been buried," Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.), chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, told the Washington Post after the vote. Waxman is said to be a "strong supporter" of the legislative agenda of President-elect Barack Obama.

"It is a strong and extremely well positioned company and I look forward to carrying out Mr. Murdoch's legendary vision in the future."

» In Tomorrow's NTS Aircheck Weekly: In the wake of the political sea-change after this year's presidential election, some have suggested it represents an indictment of conservative Talk radio and might indicate a mandate to broaden the format's generally right-leaning stance. Benchmark CEO and veteran researcher Dr. Rob Balon says he doesn't believe the election signals the death of Talk radio, but says it does present the medium with, "a greater opportunity than ever to attract new fans." Read more of Balon's suggestions for growing Talk radio in the years ahead exclusively in the November 21 issue of NTS Aircheck Weekly, arriving in your inbox tomorrow morning.
